 August 12, 2006  Race Day Three

22:00 The trophy presentation is over and the DJ is playing tunes.

17:26 The Bemis fleet has finished.

16:58 The Bemis fleet has finished.

16:33 The Bemis fleet has started their last race.

16:22 The Smythe fleet started, but the wind shifted before the RC could get a Bemis start off.  The RC is now setting up a new direction for the Bemis while changing course for the Smythe.

16:04 The sixth race is complete and the RC is in sequence for the seventh and final race.

15:20 The Bemis fleet started with an individual recall.  One boat was over and the restarted correctly.

15:14 The Smythe fleet had a clean start and the Bemis fleet is in sequence.

15:07 We are in sequence for the Smythe start.  The is oscillating out of the south at 8-10 kts.

14:40 The wind has gone further west, putting the weather mark just off of the TCYC docks.  The RC is moving the race course a little further out from shore.

14:34 The wind appears to be settling in to a southerly direction.  The RC is reconfiguring the course.

14:00 The RC has postponed.  They are setting a starting line for the current wind.  However there is a rain cell south of us that may cause problems.

13:45 The RC is on station preparing to set a course. The Racers are starting to check in.

13:15 The RC has lowered the AP.  The wind is starting to fill in from the east.

09:45 The RC postponed ashore.  There is not enough wind to sail.

07:00 The schedule of racing has been changed for today.  The first warning will be at 10:45

August 11, 2006  Race Day Two

18:10 The 5th race for t he Bemis fleet is complete and the boats are heading for the harbor.

17:38 The Smythe fleet has finished the 5th and last race of the day.

17:14 The forth Bemis race is finished and the RC is preparing to start them again.  The finish boat is moving to weather to finish the Smythe fleet.

y16:58 The Bemis fleet is headed back up wind and the Smythe fleet is approaching the leeward mark.

16:27 The fleets have finished another pair of races.  The RC is in sequence for Race 4 for Bemis and will follow with Race 5 for Smythe.

15:52 The Smythe fleet has started and the Bemis fleet is at the leeward mark for the first time.

15:33 Both fleets finished another race and the RC is in sequence to start the next one.

14:51 Both fleets are racing again.  This will be race 3 for Smythe and race 2 for Bemis.

14:21 A race has completed for both fleets with 5-6 kts of breeze from the south.  The RC is squaring the course up for the next race.

13:08 The breeze is starting to fill in from the south east.

12:27 The Smythe fleet got a start off.  A squall came through preventing the Bemis fleet from starting.  The Smythe fleet finished their first race in the rain.

11:15 There was a significant windshift at the start and the RC has abandoned the first start and will reset the course.

10:33 The competitors have started checking in.  the wind is 5 kts from the south southwest.

10:00 The Race Committee is on the water setting up the course.

07:00 The schedule of racing has been changed for today.  The first warning will be at 10:45

August 10, 2006 Race Day One 

16:21 The Race Committee has signaled that there will be no racing today. The weather is not improving.  The storm cells have slowed down and appear to be here for a while.

15:10 All competitors are on shore and sails are down.  Storms are now moving slowly up the bay.

14:46 A squall with lightning has formed up south of the race area.  The RC has signaled Abandon to Harbor and is following the fleet in.

14:30 The RC has postponed.  A rain cell on shore is affecting the wind direction.  It should pass by shortly.

14:18 The RC is on station and boats are checking in.

13:44 The Race Committee has lower the AP.  The storms ar moving to the east of us and the wind is starting to settle in to an east southeast direction.

12:28 The Race Committee has postponed ashore.  There is a very light breeze from the west northwest, but the velocity is below minimums for starting a race.  There is also a line of thunderstorms offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, slowly moving this way.
